The 2008 U-14 East Division M.V.P., elected by the East Division coaches, was Maggie Kryznel, Willington (left). Congratulations to the other nominees honored by their teammates and coaches - Colleen Ecsedy (Ashford), Megan Kennedy (East Hartford), Cassidy Longo (Glastonbury), Aubrie Mazur (South Windsor), Jessica Olson (Tolland), Sami Urbon (Somers) and Mackenzie Whiting (Ellington).
The 2008 U-14 West Division M.V.P., chosen by the West Division coaches, was Becky Hoisl, West Hartford (right). Congratulations to the other West Division nominees - Kelsey Ballard (Windsor), Cari Conley (Enfield), Anna Glassman (Granby), Brittany King (Canton), Megan Maliga (Suffield) and Carly Williams (Simsbury).
The 2008 U-16 North Division M.V.P., selected by the North Division coaches, was Sarah Pliszka, Enfield Fireballs (left). Week 1 (ending June 22nd)
North Division: Morgan McPartland, Ellington. Pitched a complete game in the 3-2 win over Somers.
Central Division: Danielle Leone, Manchester Red. Threw a no-hitter over Coventry, striking out twelve.
West Division: Angie Moskwa, Suffield. Pitched a complete game, striking out fourteen, in a win over West Hartford.
Week 2 (ending June 29th)
North Division: Kelsey Mocadlo, East Windsor. Pitched a complete game, 3-hit shutout over Ellington.
Central Division: Ariel Diaz, Manchester Red. Had a homerun, triple and single in a 7-5 win over VernonII.
West Division: Amanda Longley, Glastonbury. Pitched a complete game with ten strikeouts and no walks in a 3-2 win over Windsor.
Week 3 (ending July 6th)
North Division: Amanda Meunier, Enfield Fireballs. Helped the Fireballs to two wins for the week with 5 RBIs in a win over Coventry and the only hit in a win over Somers.
Central Division: Kelly Robichaud, VernonI. Had a 2-run homerun and a 2-run single in the win against Manchester White.
West Division: Hayley Hoge, Glastonbury. Led Glastonbury to two wins for the week with great pitching and a bunt base hit in an extra inning win over West Hartford and a double and a run scored in a win over Manchester White.
Week 4 (ending July 13th)
North Division: Alex D'Aloisio, Tolland. Pitched a complete game 3-hitter with 16 strikeouts and also contributed two hits in a win over the Enfield Falcons.
Central Division: Erin Selavka, VernonI. Helped Vernon to three wins for the week with excellant pitching (2 hits with 15 strikeouts) and clutch hitting, including a 3-run triple.
Angie Moskwa, Suffield. Led Suffield to two wins, allowing a total of 6 hits and striking out nineteen, and had two hits, including a triple.
- U-14
Week 1 (ending June 22nd)
East Division: Chrissy Pettengill, Vernon. Hit a grandslam homerun in the 13-2 win over Ashford.
West Division: LaRessa Tessier, Windsor. Went 3 for 4 with a homerun in the win over West HartfordII.
Week 2 (ending June 29th)
East Division: Maggie Kryznel, Willington. Struck out 14 in a 7-1 win against Somers. She also had a double, single and two runs scored on offense.
West Division: Cari Conley, Enfield. Pitched a 4-0 shutout over Windsor, striking out twelve.
Week 4 (ending July 13th)
East Division: Sarah Rupp, Willington. Had a homerun, single, 3 RBIs and two runs scored in a 14-4 win over Vernon.
West Division: Jessica Dufault, West HartfordI. Earned her third straight win with a 17-4 win over West HartfordII, striking out eight and allowing only two hits over five innings.
Week 5 (ending July 20th
East Division: Erica Tremko, Willington. Played outstanding offense and defense in all three games this week.
West Division: Becky Hoisl, West HartfordI. Had three triples, a single and three runs scored against a tough Windsor team.

The league's 2008 summer season featured a record 64 players participating in their final year of ASA U-16 eligibility. The league directors and coaches would like to recognize those players and their families and express their gratitude for making the Northern Connecticut Girls' Softball League a continued and growing success.
