American Squad (Coach - Mike Sisson, Manchester)
Coventry: Megan Leavens, Kelley Lindlau and Hannah Vignone.
Glastonbury: Emily Bengtson, Alyssa Foster and Taylor Macdowell.
Granby: Samantha Gilbert, Samantha Groskritz and Amanda Jacobs.
Manchester: Bella Colletti, Kristen DeCiantis and Cam Dias.
Suffield: Laura Somerville, Nicole Wagner and Marissa Webb.
National Squad (Coach - Al Collazo, Windsor)
Enfield: Lisa Lusardi, Taylor Maier and Mackenzie Vermette.
South Windsor: Miread Kelly, Emi Marchesseault and Lina Nguyen.
West Hartford: Colleen Goroshko, Jamie Lohneiss and Rory Morgan.
WindsorI: Alisha Collazo, Macy Fenlason and Emily Parker.
WindsorII: Lucia Barresi, Amanda Dillon and Madison Lee.
The U-12 American All-Stars scored three runs in the first inning to take an early lead but the National squad outscored their opponents 10-1 the rest of the game to come away with a 10-4 decision. Samantha Groskritz (Granby) singled and scored for the Americans. Taylor Macdowell (Glastonbury) and Cam Dias (Manchester) also had hits. Enfield's Lisa Lusardi led the National team with two hits and two runs scored. Mackenzie Vermette (Enfield) and Rory Morgan (West Hartford) also hit singles for the Nationals. Lusardi, Emily Parker (Windsor) and Macy Fenlason (Windsor) shared pitching duties for the Nationals and combined on a three-hitter. Manchester's Cam Dias & Kristen DeCiantis, Laura Somerville (Suffield) and Hannah Vignone (Coventry) all pitched well for the Americans.
2009 Pat Uricchio Sportmanship Award / U-12 Division
In honor of the late Pat Uricchio, umpire, coach and longtime NCGSL supporter, our umpiring board has initiated an award to be presented annually to one team in each NCGSL age division that has best demonstrated sportmanship qualities over the past summer season. The U-12 recipient for 2009 was the WindsorII team. Accepting the award (right) was Windsor coach T.J Barresi, accompanied by players Amanda Dillon, Madison Lee and Lucia Barresi. Presenting this inaugural U-12 award were umpires (l-r) Bill Mann, Al Harrison and Orlo Smith.

East Windsor: Allison Rodrigue and Melissa Wabble.
Enfield: Shannon Cherpak and Melissa Urbon.

Willington: Josie Borysevicz and Maggie Kryznel.
The U-14 National Division team edged their American counterparts 7-5 behind Somers' Allie Dubanoski, who tripled twice and scored three runs. Willington's Josie Borysevicz & Maggie Kryznel and Laura Skoly (Vernon) each had a pair of hits, with Sloky scoring two runs. Eileen Zadrozny & Stephanie Morin (Coventry), Megan Kennedy & Olivia Gonzalez (East Hartford), Lindsey Musco (Glastonbury) and Borysevicz shared the pitching, collectively allowing seven hits.
The American Division team was paced by Meaghan Schultheis (Granby) and Courtney Samuda (Windsor), who each had two hits. Becky Hoisl (West Hartford), Rose Minichiello (Canton), Jamie Kalegeros (Simsbury) and Shannon Cherpak (Enfield) also had hits. Christina Cardwell (Canton), Molly Parker (Windsor) and Suffield's Allie Moreno all pitched for the American squad.

This year's recipient of the award in the U-14 Division was the Somers team, coached by Paul Vanasse. Accepting the award with Paul (left) were players Emily Vanasse and Allie Dubanoski. Presenting were umpires (l-r) Sean Sweeney, Al Harrison and John Badger.

Ellington: Emily Fillion and Mackenzie Whiting.
Somers: Shelby LaDue and Kayla Stetson.
Tolland: Meghan Ciccarelli, Brittany DeCarli and Mindy Sharon.
Vernon: Courtney Oliva.
West Division Team (Coach - Bob Williams, Simsbury)
Glastonbury: Nicole Deskus and Hayley Howard.
Granby: Bethany Grupp and Kelsey Walsh.
Manchester: Erin Butler, Hazel Sousa and Allie Vitkus.
Simsbury: Jess Rocha, Sarah Tully and Carly Williams.
South Windsor: Shannon Martin, Stephanie Rahm and Michelle Scanlon.
West Hartford: Caelese Brown and Jackie Carter.
In the U-16 nightcap, the West stars decided the game with a 7-run third inning, highlighted by Simsbury's Carly Williams' 3-run homer, and cruised to a 9-4 win over the East Division team. Williams added a single and a double to complete a 3 for 3 night. Shannon Martin (South Windsor) had a hit and two runs scored. Williams and Martin also pitched for the winners, along with Allie Vitkus (Manchester), Nicole Deskus (Glastonbury) and Jess Rocha (Simsbury). The five hurlers combined to allow no hits.
Tolland's Meghan Ciccarelli & Mindy Sharon, Kayla Stetson (Somers) and Mackenzie Whiting (Ellington) scored the runs for East team. Sharon, Josie LoRicco (Coventry), Courtney Oliva (Vernon) and Ashford's Colleen Ecsedy shared the East pitching, collectively allowing eight hits.

This year's recipient of the award in the U-16 Division was the Ellington team, coached by Christine Chamberland. Accepting the award were Ellington players Mackenzie Whiting and Emily Fillion. Presenting were umpires John Badger and Sean Sweeney.
