2010 All-Star Teams and U-12 Sportsmanship Award

West Team (Coach - T.J.Barresi, Windsor)
Granby: Molly Hammack, Cali Holt, Jaimee Kidd and Sabrina Kopf.
West Hartford: Sabrina Carreira, Emani Cruz, Alyssa Murray and Elena Pevar.
Windsor: Alize Aguilar, Lucia Barresi, Allie Cigal and Arianna Romero.

East Team (Coach - Ray Lempitsky, Enfield)
Coventry: Blythe Fleming, Megan Leavens and Hannah Vignone.
Enfield: Hannah Lempitsky, Tina Leonardo, Lisa Lusardi and Kara Pacheco.
Glastonbury: Rebecca Hadfield, Kaylee Stebbins and Abby Williams.
Hebron: Kristina Kasper, Jessica Merry and Claire Russo.

The U-12 West All-Stars scored three runs in the first two innings and then needed a last inning score to record a 4-3 win. The East scored first with Glastonbury's Rebecca Hadfield and Coventry's Hannah Vignone crossing the plate in the opening inning. The West answered in the home half of the inning when Molly Hammack's bases-loaded single scored Lucia Barresi (Windsor) and Granby teammate Jaimee Kidd. Windsor's Alize Aguilar walked and scored on a fielding error to give the West a 3-2 lead after two innings. The pitchers took over for the next three innings, keeping both teams scoreless until the top of the 6th inning, when Rebecca Hadfield drove in Enfield's Tina Leonardo the tie the score 3-3. In the bottom of the 6th, Sabrina Kopf (Granby) singled, advanced on an infield out and scored on an errant throw to end the game. Lisa Lusardi & Hannah Lempitsky (Enfield), Megan Leavens (Coventry) and Jessica Merry (Hebron) also had hits for the East team.

2010 Pat Uricchio Sportmanship Award / U-12 Division
In honor of the late Pat Uricchio, umpire, coach and longtime NCGSL supporter, our umpiring board presents an award annually to one team in each NCGSL age division that has best demonstrated sportmanship qualities over the past summer season. The U-12 recipient for 2010, and the second consecutive year, was the Windsor team, coached by T.J.Barresi. Accepting the award (right) was coach Barresi, accompanied by players Alize Aguilar, Allie Cigal, Arianna Romero and Lucia Barresi. Presenting the second annual U-12 award was head umpire Al Harrison.

Enfield: Olivia Baillargeon, Lisa Lusardi and Emily Quail.
Glastonbury: Emily Bengtson and Robin Harris.
Suffield: Anna Boucher and Marissa Webb.
West Hartford: Sarah Allen and Becky Hoisl.
Windsor: Drew Martin.

East Team (Coach - Steve Musco, Glastonbury)
Coventry: Stephanie Morin, Kara Sander and Eileen Zadrozny.
East Hartford: Brianna Garay and Suzanne Vachon.
Manchester Red: Lisa Molloy and Lauren Yaffa.
Manchester United: Lauren Bis and Erin Kilpatrick.
Somers: Marisa Forti and Hailee Stetson.
South Windsor: Amanda Morhardt.

The U-14 East team edged their West counterparts 2-1 behind the combined pitching of Coventry's Eileen Zadrozny and Manchester United's Lauren Bis. Zadrozny added a pair of hits, as did United's Erin Kilpatrick and South Windsor's Amanda Morhardt, who also doubled. Anna Boucher (Suffield) and Lisa Lusardi (Enfield) shared the pitching for the West. Enfield's Emily Quail led the offense with two hits. Lusardi, Becky Hoisl (West Hartford) and Robin Harris (Glastonbury) also had hits.

East Division Team (Coach - Chris Ecsedy, Ashford)
Ashford: Taylor Holmes, Morgan Ridzon and Sarah Rup.
Enfield: Katie Levasseur, Rebecca Scanlon and Melissa Urbon.
Glastonbury: Delaney Kehoe, Cassidy Longo and Lindsey Musco.
Somers: Kayla Stetson and Sam Urbon.
Vernon: Stephanie Kurowski, Anna McCain and Alison Newhall.

West Division Team (Coach - Mark Stankoski, West Hartford)
Canton: Olivia Bonini, Christina Cardwell and Kiersten Kronschnabel.
Granby: Meaghan Schultheis, Gabby Stahl and Erin Walsh.
South Windsor: Danielle Benito, Alyson Stearns and Katie Strong.
West Hartford: Jessica Dufault, Caroline Karanian, Melissa Martucci and Dani Stevens.

In the U-16 nightcap, the East Division all-stars prevailed by a score of 7 to 5. The West Division stars staked themselves to an early lead with a 3-run first inning, highlighted by a 2-run double by South Windsor's Katie Strong. The West countered with five runs in the 4th inning, with Glastonbury's Delaney Kehoe and Enfield's Katie Levasseur delivering key RBI-hits. Kehoe added an RBI-double in the 6th inning, scoring Rebecca Scanlon (Enfield), and the East survived a late-inning threat from the West to hang on for the victory. Sam Urbon (Somers), Morgan Ridzon (Ashford) and Melissa Urbon (Enfield) also had hits for the East. West Hartford's Melissa Martucci led the West offense with two doubles. Olivia Bonini (Canton) had a double and Dani Stevens (West Hartford) and Alyson Stearns (South Windsor) had singles.
Somers' Sam Urbon and Ashford's Taylor Holmes both pitched very well for the East. Jessica Dufault (West Hartford), Erin Walsh (Granby) and Christina Cardwell (Canton) all had good games in the circle for the West.

All participating players received All-Star medals to commemorate this concluding event of the 2010 NCGSL summer season.
