The 2001 NCGSL U-14 league tournament was held at Vernon Center Middle School on Saturday and Sunday, August 4th and 5th. The 5-game round-robin concluded with the two top teams playing in a championship game on Sunday afternoon.

Championship Game(see photos)
Vernon 3, South Windsor 1. Vernon's Mary Gordon and South's Christine Lemieux both pitch into and out of jams in a game highlighted by superb rally-killing defensive plays. The difference in the game is a 2-run homer by Erin Diette, who hours earlier had won the hitting contest.
Coached by Mike Gandini and Tom Gordon, the Vernon roster also included Sherri Gandini, Amanda Viens, Rachel Laster, Melissa Rebai, Lisa Riendeau, Jennifer Paris, Bethany Paterson, Eliza Paterson, Rebecca Mattern, Brittany Bamforth, Alex Coll and Kaylee Santuccio.
