Northern Connecticut Girls' Softball League

** 2008 U-14 League Tournament **

Brookside Park, Ellington

The 2008 NCGSL U-14 league tournament was held Saturday and Sunday, August 2nd - 3rd at Brookside Park in Ellington. Pool play on Saturday was originally scheduled to have every team playing three games, primarily with teams in the opposite division that they did not compete against during the regular season. Due to rain, these games were halted after the morning time slots, with the result being some teams only playing one game.
For Saturday pool play, games were 80 minutes long with home team determined by coin toss. A mercy rule of 8 runs after 5 innings was in effect. Tie games counted as ties. Seeding for Sunday's single elimination was based on each team's first Saturday game. Tie breakers were 1) runs allowed, then 2) runs scored.

Sunday's Schedule - Single Elimination
Teams were seeded for Sunday according to their record on Saturday, with only their first game counting due to the rain which cancelled several games. Tiebreakers were fewest runs allowed, then most runs scored. Sunday games were 90 minutes long, except the final, and higher seed was home team with the exception of the #8/#9 game, which was a coin toss. International tie breaker would have been used if the game was tied after 7 innings. A mercy rule of 10 runs after 5 innings was in effect.
