1999 U-14 League Tournament

The Northern Connecticut Girls' Softball League held its first U-14 League Tournament at Vernon Center Middle School the weekend of August 7th and 8th. A six team round-robin was played with the teams with the two best records playing a championship game.

Enfield 19, Vernon 2.
Somers 20, East Windsor 19.
South Windsor 14, Tolland 12.

Somers 12, Tolland 11.
Enfield 16, East Windsor 11.
Vernon 20, South Windsor 12.
Round #4 Games
Vernon 16, East Windsor 10.
Enfield 16, Tolland 11.
Somers 17, South Windsor 16 (9 innings).
Round #5 Games
Vernon 21, Tolland 6.
East Windsor 7, South Windsor 2.
Somers 16, Enfield 5.

Enfield, Vernon and Somers all finished with 4-1 overall records and 1-1 head-to-head records. Vernon and Enfield played in the final by virtue of fewer runs allowed.

Championship Game
Vernon 9, Enfield 1. The tournament hosts won the final as Michelle Reichert pitched a complete game, scattering seven hits. Shannon Clancy had two hits and Tawny Boulanger scored twice and led the defense at shortstop. Amanda Michaud and Sarah Freedman had good defensive games for Enfield and Amber Lacivita made a nice diving catch in right field. Coached by Tom Gordon and Mike Gandini, Vernon's roster also included Katelyn Boutwell, Jessica Call, Leighann Caron, Catherine Carter, Melissa DeBarge, Erin Diette, Danielle Deschamps, Crystal Dionne, Andrea Fenster, Sherri Gandini, Mary Gordon, Erica Joy, Colleen McCullough, Shannon Miller, Kelly Poppe, Marlene Rispoli and Amanda Viens.
