1999 U-16 League Tournament

The Northern Connecticut Girls' Softball League held its first U-16 League Tournament in South Windsor beginning Friday, August 13th. The eight U-16 teams were seeded according to regular season record into a double elimination format. Because inclement weather cancelled the Sunday schedule, the final was played on Tuesday, August 17th.

Championship Game
Hebron 7, South Windsor 2. Hebron scored six runs in the first inning and held off host South Windsor to claim the tournament trophies. Melanie Turgeon was 2 for 2 with a triple and 3 RBI. Sarah Miller and Sue Frost also had two hits each for the winners. Coached by John Brinkman, the Hebron roster also included Catherine Brinkman, Danielle Gagnon, Katie Gansziniec, Suzanna Jordan, Stephanie Custance, Kristen Lukach, Lindsay Christensen, Brittany Christensen, Kate Lally, Ali Hall, Sara Lerro, Lindsay Adams, Rachel Leyland, Katie Leyland, Danielle Maher, Sandy Adams, Ginny Sullivan, Laura Mozzer, Susan Gaber, Allison Theilig and Amanda Bednarz.
Ashley Killingbeck pitched well and had two hits for South Windsor while Diana Gamache and Kelly Niederwerfer had good games defensively.
