** 2009 U-16 League Tournament **

The 2009 NCGSL U-16 league tournament was held Saturday and Sunday, August 8th and 9th at Brookside Park in Ellington. For Saturday, the teams were arranged in three groups (1-3-11-13, 2-4-10-12 and 5-6-7-8-9) based on their won-lost records for the regular season. Each team played three pool games against other teams in their group to determine seeding for the single elimination bracket on Sunday. The #8 seed played four games and their worst game was dropped. Games were 80 minutes long, a coin flip determining the home team. Tie games counted as ties. Tie-breakers for pool group seeding were (1) head-to-head games, (2) division records and (3) runs allowed per game.
RED GROUP: Seed numbers 1 (Simsbury), 3 (Tolland), 11 (Ashford), 13 (Granby).
WHITE GROUP: Seed numbers 2 (Vernon), 4 (Manchester), 10 (Coventry), 12 (Ellington).
BLUE GROUP: Seed numbers 5 (South Windsor), 6 (Enfield), 7 (West Hartford), 8 (Somers), 9 (Glastonbury).
